Meet the Doctor
Dr. Shawn Pala chose chiropractic as a career after a long-term struggle with an adolescent spinal disease called Scheurmann’s. Despite chronic pain beginning in his early teens, Dr. Pala graduated 5th in his class from North White High School in Monon, Indiana in 1985. Dr. Pala went on to graduate from Taylor University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During his time at Taylor University, the doctor was both a patient of chiropractic and several physical therapy clinics managing pain from spinal compression fractures and disc herniations (a common issue with Scheurmann’s disease). Dr. Pala returned to Ball State University in 1991 to earn a Master of Science Degree from the Center for Information and Communication Sciences.
Upon graduation from Ball State University in May of 1993, Dr. Pala moved to Indianapolis where he began a career in Information Systems. During this time, Dr. Pala developed relationships with many doctors of chiropractic, physical therapists and other medical physicians managing spinal problems as a result of his adolescent Scheurmann’s disease. During his many years of managing physical problems related to Scheurmann’s, Dr. Pala’s passion became helping other people overcome physical limitations and disabilities with an integrated approach to wellness.
In August of 2002 Dr. Pala was accepted at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri to pursue a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a doctorate of chiropractic.
Dr. Pala opened his private practice in Hamilton County in January of 2007. He is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Indiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Pala was also certified as an extremities specialist which includes the treatment of shoulder, wrist, knee, and ankle injuries.
Dr. Pala enjoys lecturing on a variety of health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and fibromyalgia.
